The holiday homes that Homes of Africa offers are mainly owned by Dutch, Belgian, Swiss and South African owners. The villas are located on a private estate (Zandspruit Estate) near the town of Hoedspruit – South Africa. Read more about Zandspruit Estate.

To check whether a villa is available in your desired period, you can use the search/book module on the holiday home overview page. Enter your arrival / departure date and immediately see which villas are available. Feel free to contact us if a villa is not available in the desired period or if you are in doubt. We will be happy to help you find a suitable other villa based on your wishes. you wish.

Renting several villas is also possible, please contact us so that we can select the villas that are near each other.

It is possible to take an option for a maximum of one week on all villas. You then have some reflection time with the certainty that the house is blocked for you, or it offers you the opportunity to organize air plane tickets and car rental. Please contact us if you want to put an option on a certain villa.

After you have made a reservation by e-mail or by telephone, you will receive a booking confirmation from us. This booking confirmation states how and within what period you must make the (down) payment. In addition, you will receive additional information from us about the journey and stay in the villas, our host, the extensive information guide and the shopping list.

If all houses are full in the period you have chosen, there is often an alternative villa available. Put the period in an email and we will be happy to help you: [email protected]

After you have made a booking you will receive the booking confirmation and all additional information by e-mail within max. 2 days. The booking confirmation contains, among other things, practical information for the journey to the villas, the contact details of our host on site and the costs that must be paid and the terms within which payment must be made.

You can always book online. This is possible up to max. 2 days before arrival. There are three different types of bookings.

1. Booking via the website
You can immediately see which villa is available in the desired period. Fill in all the details on the villa page and book the villa directly. You will receive the booking confirmation by e-mail from us within 2 days.

2. Option
If you want to consult with the travel group, or still need to book airline tickets, you can take an option of up to a week.

3. By phone
If you would like to discuss which villa is best suited for you, or if you have any additional questions, please contact us by telephone. We are happy to help you answer all your questions. In addition, it immediately offers you the option to make a reservation. Within 2 days you will receive the booking confirmation by e-mail. Do you want to stay within a week? Then it is always advisable to call.

Absolute! All villas are on one level. The bedrooms and bathrooms are also on the ground floor, the indoor shower and outdoor shower are easily accessible.

Yes, we have chosen to charge 20% of the total amount as a down payment. The deposit must be credited to Homes of Africa’s account within 7 days after booking. The remainder must be credited to the account no later than 4 weeks before arrival. You will receive all necessary information for payment from us after a booking.

In addition to the rental price, we charge a one-off €39 booking fee. The rental price is always inclusive:

• Exclusive use of the villa
• Full access to Zandspruit Estate to walk, cycle and do self-drives
• Gas, water and electricity
• Weekly cleaning

No, you always pay the rent in advance. Upon arrival you pay, if indicated in advance, for the groceries that are in the fridge upon arrival.

It is possible to pay by credit card. An additional €40 euro transaction fee will be invoiced.

We use a deposit of 20% of the total rent. This must be transferred immediately after booking. The remainder (80%) must be credited to our account at least one month before arrival. We do offer any other payment options such as credit card.

No, we do not work with a security deposit. We assume that every tenant treats the rented property sparingly, in addition, our host will also monitor this.

There are three options to reach the villas. You can fly from Johannesburg to the village of Hoedspruit (1 hour), you can drive from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit (+/- 5 hours) or you can take the bus from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit. Most often chosen to drive from Johannesburg. The route leads via Dullstroom and the Strydom Tunnel to Hoedspruit. The route is completely paved and easy to prepare. When booking you will receive an information guide with detailed directions.

It is advisable to book a rental car before your departure to South Africa, this gives peace of mind and certainty. If you fly to Johannesburg, it is useful to rent a car from Budget or Avis. From Johannesburg Airport you can walk to the offices of Budget and Avis, where you can immediately pick up the car and drive to Hoedspruit. If you fly to Hoedspruit Airport, the car will be ready for you at the airport. From Hoedspruit Airport it is about a 15 minute drive to Zandspruit Estate (villas). The roads in South Africa are generally good. However, the back roads can be a bit bumpy. You do not need an international driver’s license to drive in South Africa, a local driver’s license is sufficient. Attention: In South Africa you drive on the left!

If you stay in South Africa for less than 90 days, you do not need a visa. You will get a tourism via on arrival.

All holiday homes are located 1 km from the village of Hoedspruit in the province of Limpopo (South Africa). Hoedspruit is a touristic and pleasant village 40 minutes from the Kruger Park & ​​25 minutes from the heart of the Blyde River Canyon. In Hoedspruit all necessary facilities can be found and it is surrounded by various nature reserves. You can also enjoy a delicious (luxurious) meal in Hoedspruit, there are several supermarkets, banks, gas stations and very nice souvenir shops.

Yes, there are many restaurants in Hoedspruit. Recommended restaurants in Hoedspruit include restaurant Sleepers and the Hat and Creek. All restaurants have an extensive menu that includes many traditional South African dishes. When booking you will receive an information guide where all restaurants can be found.

Yes, the villas are cleaned prior to arrival. In addition, the house will be cleaned weekly during a stay, the exact day will be agreed upon arrival. It is advisable to plan an activity when the cleaning lady comes.

It’s advisable to book activities and safaris in advance. Our hosts can help you prebooking all activities and safaris and will discuss all activities upon arrival and reserve them if needed. You do not need to book in advance for many activities.

Yes, all villas have a washing machine. The washing machine is used by the cleaning lady. You can also operate the washing machine yourself. In addition to a washing machine, there is a dryer and dishwasher.

Yes, a 1 km drive from the villa is the village of Hoedspruit, where you will find, in addition to 2 gas stations, 2 western supermarkets (Spar and Pick n’ Pay) and various other shops, such as clothing stores, souvenir shops, restaurants (with delicious food) and a internet cafe.

Yes, we cannot deny that South Africa has a bad reputation when it comes to safety. Apartheid and the difference between rich and poor is partly to blame for this. The tourist village of Hoedspruit is absolutely safe, you can go to the shopping center or do your shopping yourself. The villa is located on Zandspruit Estate, the Estate is secured day and night, is fenced and not accessible to outsiders. Although Hoedspruit and the area around the villas is completely safe, it is advisable to take a number of things into account:

• Never leave your luggage unattended
• Don’t show off with money, expensive cameras or jewelry
• Pay attention to the surroundings and keep an eye on your belongings at all times
• Don’t take hitchhikers

Sit down, enjoy and take a picture. In principle there is dangerous game on Zandspruit Estate.

In principle, the water from the tap is drinkable. The water has good quality, but will taste maybe different. For people with an ‘unruly’ stomach, the advice is to buy water bottles in the supermarket.

It is possible to use the internet in the villas. The wifi code will be handed over to the villa upon arrival. Please note: It remains South Africa, the internet is not as fast as we are used to in Europe. Furthermore, all restaurants have an internet connection. Ask the waitress at the restaurants for the internet code.

The accessibility via a mobile phone in South Africa is of very good quality. Accessibility is also very good in the villas at Zandspruit Estate.

No, in principle you do not need world plugs. Extensions are available in the villas so that all electronic equipment that you bring can be charged and used. If there are not enough extensions, you can easily buy them in the supermarket.

There is enough to do around the villas to easily entertain you for three weeks. When booking you will receive an extensive information guide in which all activities can be found. Anyway, these are our tips:

• Go on a safari in the Kruger Park in your own car and spot the Big 5
• Take a day and drive the panorama route (incl. Blyde River Canyon)
• A sundowner (drink when the sun goes down) in the wilderness of Zandspruit Estate
• On a (luxury) game drive safari in a Big 5 Game Reserve nearby
• Visit Jessica the Hippo
• Join an informative tour of Moholoholo Rehabilitation Center
• Zipline in the Magboebas Gorge
• Feel the thrill on a walking safari in a Big 5 reserve
• Fly with a microlight over the Blyde River Canyon or Kruger Park

Yes, you can easily go on safari around the booked villa where you can encounter harmless wild animals such as Giraffes, Zebras, Kudus, Nyalas, Wildebeest, Wartoghs, etc. In addition, it is easy to go on safari with your own car to the Kruger Park, the route to the entrance of the park is 40 minutes on a fully asphalted and easily accessible road. There are also plenty of opportunities to go on safari accompanied by a ranger by means of a ‘Game Drive’ or ‘Walking Safari’.

Yes, check-in is possible from 14:00 in the afternoon. If you wish to access the villa earlier, please contact our hosts. You will receive the telephone number after booking. Check-out is no later than 10:00 am. If you want to leave later, please discuss this with our hosts upon arrival at the villa.

All villas are equipped with bed, bath and kitchen linen. This is enough in stock.

If you are forced to cancel the booking due to circumstances, please contact us by telephone or e-mail: [email protected].

There are costs associated with a cancellation. We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance before booking the villa. If you have taken out cancellation insurance and you cancel the booking for a valid reason for the insurance, the costs may be reclaimed through the insurance.

In the event of cancellation, Homes of Africa is entitled to offer or rent out the property again. If the tenant leaves the house before the end of the rental period, no refund of rent will be made.
