Travel back in time in this authentic mining village

Pilgrim’s Rest is an old mining village which owes its name to the first group of prospectors who called themselves pilgrims. The mining village is still in tact, and literally makes you feel like going back in time. The largest gold nugget found there weighed 24 lbs! Maybe you can find a similar piece? From Pilgrims Rest you can head of for various walks, guided or unguided. Besides the museum in the village is nice a visit.

Pilgrim’s Rest can be used as start or finish point of the Panorama Route, crossing the Pinnacle, God’s Window, the Three Rondavels and the Blyde River Canyon. The surrounding area of Pilgrims Rest is just wonderful!
